Flooding

Sadly, the winter just keeps on giving at the moment with a lot of rain today and more unsettled weather expected in the coming weeks The current situation is set out below. There are also flood alerts starting to go on in the Oxfordshire area of the River Thames.​

There are still ongoing sewage and groundwater issues in many areas including Shaw /Clayhill area in Newbury, many areas along the river Lambourn and in the West Ilsley area.  We continue to be engaging with TW about this, the use of their tankers and the impact on the community which I have no doubt will be ongoing.
Council Activities: We are still in effect responding to incidents as and when they arise but we are also progressing the debriefs and the investigations as to why properties flooded (section 19 investigations).
Grant Administration: We have got the information and processes in place in relation to Grants for flooded properties. All the details, including the qualification criteria, for residential, commercial and farmers are detailed on the website: Flood Grants.  Please do share it with your communities.
